REACH FAR (Youth Academy)

A youth leadership and research program that equips high school students with the knowledge, skills, and mentorship needed to identify community challenges, develop solutions, and become changemakers.

The REACH FAR Academy (Foundations for Action Research) introduces high school students to the processes of community-engaged research, innovation, advocacy, and leadership. Through hands-on learning, mentorship from University of Pennsylvania faculty, researchers, and community leaders, participants learn how to investigate real-world issues and turn ideas into action.

The Academy is designed to help young people understand how research can be used as a tool for community change while building skills in critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving. Participants work together throughout the week to explore challenges affecting their communities and develop innovative solutions that can make a meaningful impact.
