Mystkue Woods

Mystkue Publications, LLC

My work involves arts-based and pleasure-informed practices as it relates to sexual and reproductive health education  and perspectives around sexual agency, pleasure, desire, and engagement with biomedical tools like PrEP (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis) and DoxyPEP (Doxycycline Hyclate) have been doing this work for about 10 years.  I am interested in community-academic partnerships to address the issue of Black Queer Women’s Health, specifically Bisexual+ Cisgender Black women in HIV prevention spaces and their overall sexual experiences.  In terms of past CBPR experience, I have worked with a multitude of community based organizations, NGOs to conduct research and projects to support the needs of the community in some way or another. The ideal partner for me and my organization would be one that is eager to be a co-contributor to the work, as well as a conduit to ensuring systems-level structures are a cultural fit for the community and its ongoing needs.  As a partner, you can expect me and my organization to bring an understanding of the sexual and reproductive landscape as well as a passion for intersectionality that centers the community as the expert. Additionally, we will provide creative and innovative implementation strategies based on the needs we identify in tandem in partnership with community.
