Janice Hall

Founder, CEO Maternal Beats, LLC

My work involves developing evidence‑based, food‑focused maternal nutrition resources and translating research into practical tools for pregnant individuals, and I have been doing this work through Maternal Beats for several years after pivoting from early academic work on women in engineering and workforce development. I am interested in community–academic partnerships to address maternal nutrition inequities, chronic‑condition management, and gaps in culturally relevant nutrition education. My CBPR experience includes working alongside community leaders, health providers, and families to design interventions that reflect lived experiences and local context. I am particularly looking for a partner with training in food as medicine to support rigorous, implementation‑ready strategies. The ideal partner would be committed to shared decision‑making, evaluation, and sustainable impact. As a partner, you can expect me to bring strong academic training, a holistic nutrition lens, and a collaborative approach grounded in respect for community expertise.
