Gregory J. Allen, Ph.D.

My career and life’s work involves seeking ways to help Black and Brown communities and families to maintain, grow and thrive. For more than 30 years, I have been working in communities and neighborhoods throughout the Greater Philadelphia region. I am interested in community / academic partnerships and working with someone to address the social determinants of health, risk and protective factors for youth violence and issues that stabilize or threaten to destabilize Black and Brown families and communities. As a partner, you can expect me and my organization to be active participants in the research, lead community involvement and help promote our findings to the community, media and funders.

Overbrook West Neighbors is a nonprofit community development corporation that serves the Overbrook neighborhood of West Philadelphia. We are a group of concerned and committed neighbors and stakeholders who seek to maintain and improve the quality of life for our neighbors and community. We seek partnerships that will help us to realize our mission and fulfill our tagline of Keeping Overbrook Safe, Clean & Organized!  We Are #OverbrookProud!
